The Early Morning Superstar Smoothie


You know those really early mornings where you wake up and you want something quick, and filling that doesn't require that tiring task of chewing. This unique fruit smoothie recipe is an awesome way to start the day. Packed with anti-oxidant rich red fruits this will get you going and keep you full.

Lychee grapefruit breakfast smoothies

with cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple sugar.

Recipe:

Makes: 2- 8 oz glasses

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana

  • handful of lychee berries, de-pitted with skins removed

  • 1 full grapefruit- juiced, and a tablespoon of the rind zested.

  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • handful of dark red cherries, de-pitted

  • handful of frozen strawberries

  • handful of frozen pineapple cut into chunks

  • 1 tablespoon chopped thyme

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

  • 1/2 tablespoon nutmeg

  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup almond milk, vanilla or unflavored

  • 1 small scoop vanilla protein powder.

  • 1/2 cup cold water.

Instructions:

Clean and was ALL produce and fruit before using. Grab your blender OR Juicer and mix all ingredients together. Tightly close lid and run at high blending speed, preferably 3-5, 20 second pulses. pour into medium sized drinking glasses and serve chilled.

  • A few notes:

  • A good blender will really go a long way with fruit and vegetable smoothies. Invest in a good one and you will be able to make great smoothies every time.
